Edimar Bocchi, MD
Dr. Bocchi’s areas of clinical and research interest include heart failure, Chagas heart disease, cardio-oncology, heart transplantation, and exercise in heart failure. Dr. Bocchi is one of the founders of the Department of Heart Failure of the Brazilian Society of Cardiology. He is a pioneer in the development of heart transplantation in Chagasic cardiomyopathy; nitric oxide and phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors in heart failure. He is an author of more than 500 publications in peer-reviewed journals, contributed to 70 book chapters, and serves as the national coordinator for several randomized clinical trials, including the BELIEF, COMMANDER, SHIFT, RAD 2401, VICTORIA, DETERMINE, and EMPEROR Trials.
